Sorry, I wasn't clear. User
Sorry, I wasn't clear.
User groups can register with O'Reily. Registered user groups often get stuff
sent to them. Hmmm, stuff.
My question : Is gatorlug a registered O'Reily User group?
O'Reilly Stuff
We are not registered at the moment. But, it is a good idea. I'll get it done.
Great. In an unrelated note,
Great.
In an unrelated note, there's a strange text, most likely some error, near the top of this page that reads:files/pictures/picture-44.jpg.
The html around it is this (begining of tags cut off):
-- start main content --
-- begin content --
div class="node"
files/pictures/picture-44.jpg
span class="submitted" /span
span class="taxonomy"
That's a bug in Drupal 4.7 beta 3
We are testing beta 6 on the test site. We'll probably wait for the code to reach release candidate status before updating the code on the production site. Most of the site glitches at the moment are cosmetic. We'll be setting up a project to manage site fixes/changes at projects.gatorlug.org. Thanks for offering time to help fix/improve the site.
O'Reilly increases user group discount
In case you missed it, O'Reilly recently increased user group discount
Some great news from O'Reilly - they've increased the user group
discount!
If the gator lug joins, we get some code. To get the discount you use the code when you order.

The holdup on O'Reilly Registration
Registration requires a physical address. O'Reilly has printed materials they want to send to that address and books for reveiw.
I've been trying to figure out how to get a physical address that is A) not my personal address and B) does not cost a lot of money. If anyone else has done this before or has any ideas let me know.
Waiting for approval from O'Reilly
We now have an address in physical space (see the sponsor and about GatorLUG pages for details. Thanks David!). So, I have sent in the required information about the group. O'Reilly has to approve the registration and then they will send out a welcome packet. I'm hoping to have all the details ready for the next LUG meeting (July 19).
