Meeting Topic
=============
This month's presentation is titled:
IBM's Academic Initiative / Mainframe Linux by Richard Chambers, Solutions Expert for IBM
IBM is devoting resources to educating students about enterprise-scale computing, which includes the hardware, software, and architecture of mainframe servers which have the highest reliability and security, most advanced technology, and which embrace open standards.
The growing demand for mainframe skills means high-paying jobs for students. These skills also enable computer professionals to pursue good career paths while working in a heterogeneous I/T environment that includes Unix, Windows, Linux, z/OS, and z/VM.
Mr. Chambers will go into more detail on this topic and give real-world examples of how these skills are being used at educational institutions here in Florida.
