6:20 - 7:00 Build Your Own Diskless Wireless Router | Ben Goldsbury

Ben wanted a low power, solid state, wireless router and decided to build his own using open software instead of using an "off the shelf" consumer router with custom firmware.

Here is a list of the features he wanted: Firewall, IPv6, Traffic Shaping, Nagios, email transport over SMTPS to send mail from all machines inside house (Cox blocks port 25 outgoing), IPSec, DNSSEC, Port Knocking, PS3 + Hulu, Wireless-N Access Point, PXE bootserver, and iPhone VPN

Ben will discuss what motivated him to build his own router, the hardware choices he made, and some of the technical details and gotchas that he encountered with the project.
