GatorLUG Meeting Agenda for April 20, 2016
6:00 - 6:30 Announcements / General Discussion
6:30 - 7:45 Money Management with Linux | Allen Rout, Clinton Collins
As I was searching for documents and adding up receipts to complete my taxes this year, I started thinking again about keeping track of these things throughout the year versus scrambling around at the last minute hoping I would find everything I needed by the IRS deadline. I managed to beat the deadline but it was more stressful than it needed to be.
I used to use an application called Moneydance. I liked it but it was not free and it requires java. I am now looking at an application called KMyMoney. Not a great name but so far it looks promising. I'll give an overview and introduction to KMyMoney.
Both Allen and I also have experience with Gnucash. We have used it to manage the finances for the Gainesville Hackerspace. So, we'll also present an overview and introduction to GnuCash and take questions about managing money to promote a general discussion about the topic.
7:45 - 8:00 Open discussion, meet and greet someone new
